CERAMICS SOUTHERN AFRICA

Formerly known as the Association of Potters of Southern Africa, was formed in 1972 to foster the art of ceramics and craft pottery by encouraging its development, recognition and appreciation. Ceramics SA, the only national body representing studio potters, publishes a quarterly magazine.

In order to inform and empower the membership, and to sell individuals work, each region organizes exhibitions, demonstrations, talks and seminars, and publishes a newsletter. The Cape Region initiated a skills development program to equip candidates, from previously disadvantaged communities, with the necessary skills training to bridge the gap between tertiary education and the job market.
